Chinese Website for Lake District Tours

24/01/2013

Cornish WebServices have just created a Chinese website for Lake District Tours, a leading holiday company in the Lake District.

We had already designed Japanese and English versions of this website and have now translated the site into simplified Chinese, a commonly used dialect of this language.

The information on the Chinese site is the same as the UK and Japanese versions. The website owner wanted a website in the Chinese language because the Lake District is such a popular holiday destination with Chinese visitors.

The original website was actually in Japanese before it was translated into English, because it was aimed to appeal directly to the Asian market. So it was clear that a Chinese version would also be required at some point.

The web development and design work involved careful recoding and translation of the website so that it reads correctly in the Chinese language and the layout looks right for this particular character set.

The Chinese website can be accessed from the English www.lakedistricttours.co.uk site, using the international flag icons at the top right of the page. The website is also available on its own URL at www.lakedistricttours.cn

The client is pleased with all our translation work, proved by the fact that he came back to Cornish WebServices to have a Chinese version of this website translated and may have more done in the future.
