Pinterest Opens Up to All

17/08/2012

Pinterest is a great way to share your photos and content you find on the web. The image based site allows users to ‘pin’ things of interest to them and their friends on a scrapbook style profile.

Up until recently Pinterest was an invite only social media website. This meant that you could only join if a current member invited you, keeping it a select network with a controlled membership.

However, as of last week the social network has opened up to all. This means anyone can now sign up for an account and start sharing and organising photos of their favourite things for friends to see.

It is not difficult to get started with Pinterest and begin sharing your favourite images. Many people think when they start a Pinterest account that they have to build a completely new set of followers.

This isn’t the case however because you can use your other social media accounts to direct people to Pinterest. For example you could post links to your Pinterest account on other social networks such as Facebook and Twitter.

So now that Pinterest is openly available to all, use the chance to get creative on the social networks and get pinning today!

Cornish WebServices have a presence on Pinterest and we think it is a great way to showcase our new portfolio. We can also help our clients get onto Pinterest and particularly recommend it for those that sell gifts and consumer services, where posting images can help to promote their brand.
