White and Black Hat SEO
 white and black hat seo

White Hat SEO encompasses the ethical practices that web designers and SEO managers use to optimise a website. These techniques promote long term results and stick to Google’s SEO guidelines. This involves having good content, keyword density, good meta data and backlink generation.  This is more effective than black hat SEO which is deemed to be unethical. This is an aggressive tactic which ignores the fundamental guidelines of search engines, often yielding unsustainable short term results. Black hat SEO involves building link farms and keyword stuffing. Stick to white hat and keep it ethical, to avoid avoiding major and irreversible penalisation from Google and other search engines.

Duplicate Content

Duplicate Content

Duplicate content occurs when large blocks of content across or within domains completely or partially match each other. In order to provide the best search engine experience, search engines will not show duplicated content from different URL’s and so affecting the visibility of your pages. This is bad SEO practice and should be avoided as having duplicate content is penalized by google.

Web Crawler

Web Crawlers can also be described as a search bot or a spider. This is a computer program that ‘crawls’ or browses the web for search engines, picking up and indexing new links and pages. Good SEO practice involves optimising a site to provide the most relevant information for crawlers. This is the first step in the indexationprocess.

Robots txt
 robots text

Robots text is used to inform search bots or web crawlers about the structure of the website. They are used to block search bots and restrict access to particular folders or sections of the website. It is effectively a file placed in the root domain.
