Do you require a school website?
Cornish WebServices have been successfully designing and creating school websites since 2002. Contact us for a school website design quotation..
All school websites conform to all required accessibility standards, and we follow child protection guidelines of never publicising identifiable photos of children. We are also able to operate a 'snow-line' service with school open/closed information being posted on the website before the school day begins.
School websites and the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) 2000
The Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) 2000 requires that public authorities, including all maintained schools, should be clear and proactive about the information they will make public. This includes:
- The classes of information which we publish or intend to publish
- The manner in which the information will be published, and
- Whether the information is available free of charge or on payment.
One of the easiest ways for a school to comply with this aspect of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 is to provide access via a website to a Publication Scheme document, that outlines the school's policy on which types of information wil be published and how.
School Snowline Information
We are able to provide fast updates to school websites when schools are affected by snow. On days when school closures are likely, we are able to handle emails / phone calls from 7am to help disseminate information quickly to parents, pupils and staff. Last year this was much appreciated at schools in Herfordshire and Kent.
