Why use a PPC management company?
There are several good reasons for using a professional PPC management company for managed pay per click services.
- By using qualified professionals your campaign should perform better, giving significantly better results. The increased ROI from a well set up campaign should be far more than the PPC management fees. This is particularly true in high spending accounts, where we typically generate results better by over 40%.
- Broader marketing knowledge. PPC marketing companies that have a large variety of clients will have a good overall knowledge of the different Internet markets, and gradual changes in behaviour between these. Effectively this means you need to use experienced PPC managers to get the best results.
- Reduction in your costs. Managing a PPC properly takes time. Some campaigns need monitoring at least daily, and a PPC management company will be setup to do this.
- Up to date skill level. PPC providers are continually improving their products, with new types of advertising opportunities being created. Keeping up to date with what works (and what does not) takes time, unless this is your particular business. A company specialising in PPC management should ensure its staff are kept up to date, At Cornish Webservices all PPC managers meet regularly for in house training and updates to ensure we continue to provide the best PPC management for our clients.
- Useful management information. A good PPC manager will produce regular summary reports (not just standard campaign data), highlighting any major issues. These can often be used to improve other areas of Internet Marketing. Cornish WebServices have expertise on other forms of online marketing and are well positioned to give such advice.
What are the risks of outsourcing your PPC management?
PPC marketing budgets can be very large. We would not advise anyone to trust unqualified people to manage your marketing budget. This is risky with no guarantee that the company or individual knows anything about managing a successful PPC campaign. Everyone has to start somewhere, but most thoughtful business owners would not want their campaign used as a training exercise by those with no experience in PPC management.
This is why Google setup the Google AdWords exam and Professional status.
PPC Management Quality Control
At the end of 2004, Google AdWords launched a Google AdWords Professional exam. From 1st January 2005, Cornish WebServices adopted a policy of only using staff who have passed the Google AdWords Professional Exam to manage client PPC accounts. We were the first UK PPC management company to operate this policy. This ensures we can offer the highest standard of service to all clients. Since then, by 2008 a total of staff have passed the Google AdWords Professional exam,
PPC Management Services offered
Cornish WebServices are not tied in to any particular PPC bid analysis or bid tracking package. This is intentional, allowing us to select the optimum method for each client, and to change packages as improvements are made to some of them. We are also flexible in the manner in which we manage PPC campaigns. For some clients we set up the account and manage the entire process including topping up the ad account funds. For other clients we handle just the keyword selection, bid prices, ad copy and tracking analysis. This leaves payment of the PPC provider to the client.
Included within our PPC management services is initial keyword selection, loading or editing the campaign data, monitoring the results and proactively making changes to optimise the campaign settings. Frequency of monitoring does depend on budget and the level of monitoring required, but is typically 3-10 times more often than the reporting interval.
For most clients we also periodically check for click-through fraud, and in the last year have several times contacted PPC service providers on a client's behalf when log files look suspicious.
Pay per click (PPC) Management Tracking
The most successful management of a PPC campaign requires tracking code to ensure the campaign remains cost effective. The major pay per click providers (Google and Yahoo) now provide tracking systems which allow the PPC managers to monitor the effectiveness of any advertising spend. Google's system does require either a small logo (Google Site Stats) or a text link to appear on your final destination page. Cornish WebServices can implement and monitor these tracking systems.
In addition to using tracking provided by the PPC provider, we sometimes use other tracking software as this enables a better analysis of both PPC data and visitors who have arrived either naturally through the search engines or via email newsletters. Cornish WebServices can provide analysis from these various systems and produce a concise monthly management report on your website activity.
