Our web servers

Cornish Webservices now own two dedicated servers for hosting linux websites and database applications, plus a selection of shared server accounts on servers in the UK or located around the world.

We maintain servers with different companies in different locations for reasons of disaster recovery and backup provision, and operate hosting in other countries to help with localised search engine optimisation.

Server locations

Dedicated servers

These are servers we fully own enabling us to control who has access and the number of accounts on each. We now have two dedicated servers, located in specialised data centres (responsible for all services, connectivity, environment and security) in London Docklands and Manchester. These are managed for us by two different companies.

Other UK servers

We also use two UK based hosting companies for shared hosting provision. These servers have different IP addresses from our dedicated servers, and for business clients we would normally divide the websites between servers to help with effective Internet Marketing.

We are currently able to host up to four different UK based websites for a client on different servers within the UK, which is helpful for businesses for which search engine visibility is important.

International Hosting

Cornish WebServices have experience of hosting many websites in other countries. This is usually done for reasons of local search engine optimisation, but can be done occasionally for cost reasons. We currently have our own website hosting accounts in:

• Germany
• Spain
• Russia

The above all relates to Linux hosting which (in our opinion) is cheaper, more reliable and better for search engine optimisation. We can also provide Windows hosting when required.
