Contribute: Quick Start Guide

Here at Cornish WebServices we do a lot of the work for you. You should have received a connection key from us, and a User Document which contains all the information you need to connect to your site.

  1. Simply double click on the connection key that was sent to you in the email. Contribute should then start automatically.
    (If this does not happen you may have to save your connection key and then click it).

  2. The Import Website dialog box should now appear.
    Enter your name, email address, and the connection key password that was supplied in the User Document we sent you.
    Your name and email address are used only to identify you from other contributors on your web team.

  3. Click OK. The website's home page should now appear in the Contribute browser. You are now connected and ready to edit.

  4. All the tools you need to edit your page are located in the top menu of the contribute browser.

  5. To edit a page simply navigate to your chosen page like you would on the internet, and click the edit page button.

  6. You should now be able to edit the text on your page, like you would on a text document.

  7. When you are finished simply click Publish to publish your alterations to the web or save for later to save your changes but not put them online.
