Content Management Systems (CMS)

A content management system (CMS) is a system that allows non-technical people to update parts of the website. These can either be fully web based (online), accessed from any computer via a web browser, or software that needs installing on your PC enabling you to connect to your website and make changes.

Cornish WebServices supply the following types of Content Management System:

  • Cornish-CMS - a hosted online solution which creates search engine optimised code
  • Enterprise level CMS systems - suited to the very large corporate organisations, typically with multiple offices
  • Contribute software - well suited to individuals working from home, maybe with several websites

Comparison of Different CMS (Content Management System) options

Cornish-CMS

Online CMSCornish CMS is our own search engine optimised content management system which has been developed to help our client websites reach and maintain top positions in the search engines. We think it is the first and only online CMS actually designed from the ground up to help gain high rankings, rather than adding on a search engine friendly module later. This makes it the CMS of choice for any business keen to market their website.

But it is also exceptionally easy to use, requiring no technical website knowledge. Reviews from our clients confirm it is much more user friendly than other online systems such as Joomla.

We currently supply the standard Cornish-CMS from under £1/day, making it affordable for charities and schools and small - medium business. We provide various add on modules which can turn this product into a sophisticated online CMS more than capable of managing websites of any size.

Enterprise Level CMS

Cornish WebServices can supply Enterprise level CMS solutions suitable for large organisations or businesses with many sites and staff. These are especially useful for company Intranets as well as websites. An Enterprise -Level CMS has strong systems in place for authoring and review of pages, and copes well with many hundreds of different users updating different parts of the website or Intranet.

Content Management with Contribute software

Contribute is a scaled down version of DreamWeaver, the professional website design software. Easy to use, similar to Word. Back in 2008 an earlier this was our recommended method of maintaining most websites. It is still a good option for home users with many websites to look after.

Cornish WebServices have an online guide to Contribute or more information on Contribute CMS.
