Cornish WebServices Design Specialist School Website

08/08/2011

A new website for The Royal School for Deaf Children in Margate (RSDCM) has been launched. The School provide education and residential care for children who have hearing impairments and associated communication difficulties.

They wanted a website that clearly explained all the educational services and types of care they offer. It was also important that the website was welcoming and inclusive, to engage current pupil’s parents and encourage those of prospective pupils to enquire further.

There are plenty of positive images around the site that make it bright and dynamic. As part of their curriculum RSDCM offer sports, crafts and home economics. So promoting a fun and active lifestyle was a key to the website design.

Important information like term dates and events are easy to find on the site and there are plenty of call to actions, encouraging visitors to make contact or donate to the charity that runs RSDCM – The John Townsend Trust.

Cornish WebServices are also now designing a website for Westgate College, a further education establishment run by the charity that pupils can go to once they have finished at the school.

Cornish WebServices have previously designed many school websites and are specialists in creating accessible and engaging sites for educational establishments. We have also developed the Cornish VLE, a virtual learning environment that allows primary school teachers, parents and pupils to manage homework remotely.
