Using Google+ for Business

05/09/2012

Businesses are increasingly using Google as a means for everyday business management. Products like Google Calendar, Google Docs and Gmail are used regularly by companies across the world.

Web-based organisation and collaboration has revolutionised the way businesses work. You can not only connect with people in your office but also internationally, both quickly and efficiently.

Now Google’s social tools are also changing the way that people connect. Google are positioning their social networking site Google+ as another business tool in the overall Google Cloud, saying that “Google+ can help colleagues collaborate more easily and get things done—and get to know each other along the way.”

With this in mind they are offering a new set of Google+ features designed especially for businesses. These features will be free to Google Apps users through to the end of 2013.

Google+ business features include private sharing of posts within your organisation, plus video meetings that can be integrated with Gmail, Google Calendar and Docs.

The administrative controls have also be increased for Google+ business users. This means administrators can now set up company-wide defaults for post restrictions.

So it looks like there will be an extra level of control for Google+ business users. Cornish WebServices keep up to date on all the changes Google makes to their growing social network.
