Facebook Extends Its App Possibilities

26/01/2012

Facebook has recently been rolling out its new Timeline profile, which is more visual and lets people see things more easily by date.

It has also been working on increasing the possibilities of its third party applications (or apps). Facebook Director of Platform Products, Carl Sjogreen, recently announced further extension of the Open Graph.

This technology will allow developers to build a variety of apps for the timeline, allowing users show much more information about their lives and interests on their timeline.

Sixty apps are already available for immediate use. These include Ebay, Pinterest and Food spotting. Other aps are offered in areas such as travel, shopping, food, fitnesss and entertainment.

Facebook users do have some control over what shows on their profile via these apps. They can control whether their activity on the app shows on their timelines and who gets to see these updates.
