LEJOG 2011 – Final Fundraising Update

23/12/2011

Earlier in the year, Michelle from Cornish WebServices led the annual Lands End to John O’Groats Mini Drive (LEJOG) to raise money for two children’s hospice charities – Demelza House in Kent and Children’s Hospice South West.

Michelle has been taking part in LEJOG every year since 2000 and for the past few years has led the convoy of Minis through the UK in her trusted vintage Mini ‘Jock’ – complete with Union Jack Roof and matching trailer.

The event is organised by Linda and Terry Baker of the North Devon Mini Register, who also put on the famous Mini ‘Grand Tour’ each year.

Michelle raised £1,113.50 this year for Demelza House. She and her Mum (who is also her map reader on the trip!) presented the cheque to the local Kent charity in the Autumn. AdWords management

In early December they also presented a cheque for £300 to Little Harbour Hospice in Cornwall, a newly built care facility that is one of three hospices run by Childrens Hospice South West. The other two are Little Bridge House in Devon and Charlton Farm in Bristol.search engine marketing

Little Harbour is a fantastic new facility for children with life limiting illnesses. It is a state of the art hospice built on land donated by a local farmer. It offers great care for children as well as a dedicated sibling care team and respite care for the whole family.

Little Harbour and all hospices run by Children’s Hospice South West have great facilities such sensory rooms and games rooms. They also consider the environment when building their homes by making use of eco technology.

Michelle and her Mum were very impressed by the facilities at Little Harbour and were very pleased to be given a tour when they presented their cheque, as it revealed what great uses the money they raise goes to.

2012 will see more fundraising by Michelle for these Children’s Hospices. Cornish WebServices donate each year to the fundraising, to give money to these worthwhile causes and support Michelle in her great charitable efforts!
