Tactile Warning Labels

06/04/2011

If you are blind or visually impaired it is very important for you to be able to clearly identify hazardous products.

UK law requires a tactile label to be added in the form of a raised triangle for all products which are classified as toxic, very toxic, corrosive, harmful, extremely flammable, and highly flammable as well as on some aerosols classified as harmful, toxic or corrosive.

These tactile labels ensure that these potentially dangerous products can be quickly and easily identified.

Tactile labels are difficult to produce because they have a raised triangle above the label and they must be produced in accordance with EN ISO 11683 which clearly sets out the dimensions etc for the triangle and label. This is the same production method used to print Braille accordance with EN ISO 11683.

Dantech Ltd is a market leader in innovative label solutions and is able to produce millions of tactile warning labels to European Standard BS EN ISO 11683:1997. For more information visit http://www.tactilelabels.com including prices and specifications.
